The Paletteers

 

 

Bylaws

 

Article I The name of this organization shall be the Paletteers.

 

Article II The object of the organization is to sponsor art shows and to promote the development and advancement of painting and other arts in the Central Vermont area.

 

Article III Section 1. The membership is open to people over eighteen years of age who are willing to fulfill the requirements as stated herein.

Section 2. New applicants will be considered by the organization after application is submitted and an active Paletteer is recommending the membership.

 

Section 3. Membership in the Paletteers falls into three categories:

A.Artists who are presently painting or creating works in other media.

B.Persons who are interested in art and are willing to participate in the yearly activities.

C.Honorary members: persons who continually served the organization and are no longer painting. The designation will be made by the Board, and dues will no longer be required.

 

Section 4. Obligations of a Paletteer are:

A.Paid-up membership. Dues are to be paid on January 1st of each year, and must be paid no later than May 1st of each year.

B.Participating in the yearly activities planned by the membership, such as serving as an officer or board members, or on committees, attends meetings, art shows, and workshops, and promoting art in the community.

 

Section 5. Dues are on a calendar year basis and are payable by May 1st.

 

Section 6. If any member does not fulfill any or all of the above requirements, said member will be contacted as to his/her wishes regarding membership. If he/she is not interested in remaining in the organization, the member shall no longer be considered a Paletteer.

 

Article IV Section 1. Officers shall consist of a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer. The President may serve two two-year terms. The past President may serve on the Board of Directors for one year following his/her term of office.

Section 2. The Board of Directors shall consist of the present officers, the retiring President, and three members chosen by the President.

 

Section 3. Elections shall take place at the Christmas party. The newly elected officers shall take office in January.

 

Article V Business meetings shall be held when called, usually once a month.

 

Article VII (?)These Bylaws may be amended at the Annual Meeting in November. These Bylaws supersede all others in print.
